COOKIE POLICY

Information in compliance with regulations on information society services and personal data protection

What are cookies and what do we use them for?

Cookies are files that are downloaded to the user’s computer/smartphone/tablet when they access certain web pages.

Cookies allow us to store certain data about the user’s device or browsing activity. This data is updated and retrieved by the party responsible for its installation for various purposes, such as obtaining information about the user’s browsing habits or their device, seeing which pages have been visited, connection time, the city to which the IP address from which access is assigned, the number of new users, the frequency and recurrence of visits, visit duration, the browser or the operator or type of device used to access the site, analyzing the performance of a page, detecting technical problems, etc. Furthermore, depending on the information they contain and how the device is used, they are used to recognize the user.

Furthermore, other mechanisms and technologies exist for storing this type of information. This website does not use tracking pixels or beacons, nor fingerprinting techniques.

What information does a cookie store?

The cookies we use do not collect special categories of personal data (sensitive data). The data they store is technical in nature, such as personal preferences, content customization, etc.

What types of cookies exist?

Cookies are classified into three categories: according to the entity that manages the equipment or domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data; according to the period of time they remain active on the terminal equipment; and according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed.

According to their origin, cookies are classified as:

  • First-party cookies: These are sent to the user’s terminal equipment from a computer or domain managed by the publisher itself, from which the service requested by the user is provided.
  • Third-party cookies: These are cookies sent to the user’s device from a computer or domain not managed by the website publisher, but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

Based on their duration, cookies can be:

  • Session cookies: These are designed to collect and store data while the user accesses a website. They are typically used to store information that is only needed to provide the service requested by the user on a single occasion and disappear when the session ends.
  • Persistent cookies: These are cookies in which the data remains stored on the device and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the cookie provider, which can range from a few minutes to several years.

According to their purpose, cookies are classified as follows:

  • Technical cookies: These allow users to navigate a website and use its various options and services, including those used by the website owner to manage and operate the site and enable its functions and services (identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering items in an order, processing an order, managing payment, etc.).
  • Preference or personalization cookies: These allow the website to remember information so that users can access the service with specific characteristics that may differentiate their experience from that of other users (language, number of search results to display, region from which the service is accessed, etc.).
  • Analytics or measurement cookies: These allow the website owner to track and analyze user behavior on the websites to which they are linked, including measuring the impact of advertisements.
  • Behavioral advertising cookies: These cookies store information about user behavior obtained through continuous observation of browsing habits, allowing the development of a specific profile to display advertising based on this profile.

Why is user consent important?

In accordance with the Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce, SIPAY may install cookies on users’ devices provided they have given their consent after being provided with clear and complete information about their use. The purpose of this policy is to provide this information in a way that is useful to the user.

In accordance with the recommendations of the Spanish Data Protection Agency, SIPAY will renew the consent given by users for the use of cookies.

Cookies should be updated at least every two years.

However, it should be noted that not all cookies are treated the same from a legal standpoint.

Some cookies, because they are not considered intrusive and are necessary for browsing, are exempt from the obligation to provide information. These are cookies that allow communication between the user’s device and the network, as well as those that strictly provide a service expressly requested by the user, such as:

  • User input cookies.
  • Authentication or user identification cookies (session only).
  • User security cookies.
  • Media player session cookies.
  • Load balancing session cookies.
  • User interface customization cookies.
  • Social content sharing plugin cookies.

How can I manage cookies?

Cookies can be deleted, accepted, or blocked, as you wish. To do this, simply configure your web browser accordingly or use the following link to our cookie manager, where you can accept or reject cookies granularly.

You can prevent the installation of cookies (block them) on your computer at any time using the corresponding option in your browser. However, in this case, we cannot guarantee the proper functioning of the various features of our website.

Below are the links for managing and blocking cookies depending on the browser you use:

There are also some useful resources that offer detailed information about the types of cookies, how they are used, and how you can manage your cookie preferences at All About Cookies.

If you would like greater control over the installation of cookies, you can install a program.

You can install browser add-ons, known as “Do Not Track” tools, that allow you to choose which cookies you wish to allow.

Responsibility

The information collected by cookies and similar technologies is stored in the user’s browser. However, it is technically impossible to guarantee 100% compliance with the user’s specific cookie settings. SIPAY can limit its own cookies, but there are third-party cookies whose settings are beyond our control because they are programmed in web plugins that we cannot technically operate.

The only way to guarantee 100% compliance with your choice is for you, as the user, to configure your browser settings according to your preferences.

In some cases, it is necessary to install cookies so that the browser remembers your decision not to accept them.

Some of the services provided on this website contain links to third-party applications, services, tools, and websites, which you may use in conjunction with third-party applications, services, tools, and websites that are not affiliated with SIPAY. SIPAY is not responsible for the security or transparency of privacy information provided to users by third parties.

We recommend that you review the privacy and cookie policies of the applications, social networks, and service websites you regularly use.

Cookie Policy Updates

This Cookie Policy may be modified whenever there are changes in the configuration and/or use of cookies.

To maintain maximum transparency with users, SIPAY will always keep the updated version published on this website, indicating the date of the last update at the bottom of this page.
